I do not have notion why, but when I added this diary as an attachment to one of my Blogs, nobody could see it. Therefore I wrote it here again:

This is Diary. If you no speaking German, please search someone who does who help you understand. My English is no good. I can speak little bit but writing lot make my head hurt. Maybe you use online translator or other?

My body no want move. I feel very ill.

When I waking up, over eyes I had blindfold

Also im Moment stehst du mitten im City of Troy Labyrinth.

Mein Hirn tat wieder weh.

“OK, also.

Geht so.”

A man called Jack drive me for York.

Jack say he let me stay at house for little bit. I not know what other to do.

'This is Diary. If you no speaking German, please search someone who does who help you understand. My English is no good. I can speak little bit but writing lot make my head hurt. Maybe you use online translator or other?' (his english in bold)

I wrote a diary. I duplicated it here because I need your help.

I have a headache. My brain aches and my face burns. My body is wet. I can hear the wind whistling in my ears. I can smell fresh air. I try to move my arm but my body won't let me. I can't see anything and it feels like something is wrapped around my face. I try to move my leg but only my toes twitch. I want to give up, I'm totally exhausted and almost crying.

My body no want move. I feel very ill.

I lie there silently for a few minutes. I can feel the wetness cooling down my back.

Then I pulled myself together, lifted my hand to my face and pulled of the blindfold that was covering my eyes.

When I waking up, over eyes I had blindfold

I can see the sky above me. Grey clouds move along the horizon. It looks like it has rained recently.

I get up slowly and have a look at my surroundings. In the distance I see fields. Unending green fields. I'm standing in a labyrinth made of grass. The ground is wettish and a bit muddy.

Next to the labyrinth there is a street. The street is narrow and has to be re-paved. Grass is growing through the holes in the street.

The situation seems to be odd. Only now I realize that I don't have any idea how I got here. I don't even know what my name is. I'm frightened.

It was at least 5 minutes that I stood there, trying to remember my past and failing, before a loud sound brought me back from my thoughts. It was a car driving along the street. When the driver saw me, he stopped abruptly and got out of the car.

I couldn't make out the gender of the driver at once. The driver was wearing a cap that was covering his face. But when he started to speak it was obvious that the driver was a man.

"Are you ok?", he asked me.

"Yes, I think so. Am I dreaming? I don't know where I am!"

My english isn't very good and it was worse when I spoke to him. "At the moment? Well, at the moment you are standing in the middle of the City of Troy Labyrinth. You better get out of there because normally you aren't allowed to go in there at all. Down there," the driver was pointing along the street with his finger, "there is Skipwith and about 10 miles from here is York."

My brain was aching again. I couldn't read my own thoughts. It was like having only fog in my head. When he started to speak again he asked me with an outstreched hand:

"What's your name?"

"I ... yeah, well ... I don't know. I have no idea."

"Ok then. I will call you Markus. My dog died and I was coming here to bury him. His name was Markus. Do you have a problem with that? My name is Jack by the way."

"No, it's ok. That's fine."

"Listen, I'm driving back to York. If you want I can take you with me. It's pretty far to just walk and around here are only small villages. Maybe you can find help there. But if you stay here you are probably going to freeze to death."

A man called Jack drive me for York.

He was looking at my clothes. I was wearing muddy white shorts and a tight white shirt. I wasn't wearing shoes. In my hand I was still holding the blindfold. The blindfold is black and made of thick material. No wonder I couldn't see anything at first.

The shorts didn't have any pockets where something about my past could have been hidden.

"What's that?", Jack asked me and pointed at the blindfold. I told him I didn't have a clue and that it was wrapped around my head when I woke up. Jack didn't ask any further questions and we got into the car and Jack started driving.

"Do you have any money for a hotel? Or do you know anybody in York?", Jack asked me. I told him that I had no idea. I wasn't sure Jack believed me - he never looked in my eyes although it could have been a bit difficult while driving. Anyway I had the feeling he didn't believe what I was saying.

When we arrived in York I saw a city that was totally new to me. I didn't recognize anything. I felt totally anonymous like when sitting in a car driving through a unknown city.

After a while Jack stopped in front of a huge house.

"Erm, see you later then. That's my house."

I still was a bit shocked and had no clue where I was so I stayed in Jack's car. All of a sudden Jack started to speak. Now he was looking directly into my eyes.

"You don't have a place where you can go, do you? At the beginning I didn't believe what you were telling me but I don't want you to sleep on the streets. If you want you can stay for a few nights."

I didn't know what else to do; I had no clue where I was or where I came from and also no idea where I was right now.

With a strange feeling in my stomach I followed Jack into his house.

"Go and take a shower first, you smell ... strange. Somehow like burnt hair."

Jack gave me a shirt, a towel and some old pants and showed me where the shower was.

Jack say he let me stay at house for little bit. I not know what other to do.

It was a great feeling to be washed again. The water was warming me up; I was still frozen. In the shower I looked at the tattoo on my right arm. “Trovu la ringon perditan”. No idea. I wasn't paying any more attention to it for now. I was tired and the warm water made me even more tired.

When I finished my shower and got out , Jack suggested I should search the internet for information about me, maybe someone was searching for me. He told me about a site called flickr, maybe I could use flickr to search for some pictures to recover my memory. I told him I was too tired to do it right now. He cooked a meal for me and showed me his guest room. I jumped into the bed and instantly fell asleep.

I woke up and was frightened. The happenings of the previous day needed a couple of seconds before they came clearly into my mind again. I looked out of the window. Because of the position of the sun, I guessed it had to be about 1pm.

I ran downstairs to find Jack but couldn't find him. Obviously Jack had enough money: In the house were many expensive things. A gigantic television was on a wall and on another wall there was a painting which looked very old and expensive. In the kitchen, I saw a note Jack had left me. He was at work and would be back around 6pm.

I went through the kitchen into the living room. There I found a computer. Curious and with Jack's idea about the internet and flickr in my mind, I turned on the computer. It seemed to be quite easy for me to use the computer. Maybe I often used a computer in my forgotten past?

I opened www.flickr.com but couldn't find anything I recognized. Fisrt I looked for pictures in England, then for pictures all around the world. Nothing seemed familiar to me. From that moment on, I started to write this diary. I took a block of paper from the desk and started to write.

Only then did I remember the tattoo on my right arm. The tattoo is written in a language I cannot understand. I tried to enter the words "Trovu la ringon perditan" into google but couldn't find anything about who I am or what the tattoo's meaning is. I however found out, by entering the single words, that the tattoo could be written in a language which is called Esperanto. I thought, it probably doesn't make sense to search for my identity on the internet any further, but before I turned off the computer, I opened flickr once again and created an account there. Maybe I could find a camera; maybe someone would recognize me there.

After I gave up the search on the internet I started to look around in the house.. Somehow I was in Jack's room. I am a very curious person and it was as if my hands opened the drawers by themselves. Something about Jack was odd, I had this feeling that he was concealing something. I took dusty books and records and other things out of the drawers. Then I found a dictionary which fell out of my hands when I took it out of the drawer. I saw the dictonary falling to the ground, I tried to catch it but it landed on the floor with a loud crack. It opened on the page which began with the word "hope". Maybe the book knew how I felt in that moment. I picked up the book holding only one side of it in my hands and when I did so, some banknotes fell out of the book from the other side. I picked up the money and counted it. £500. I tucked the money into the pockets of the old jeans Jack gave me. I thought I had to be independent to get out of my current situation.

I know, it was mean to steal the money from Jack, but I thought it was the only hope I had in that moment.

I went to the room where I had slept, picked up the dirty clothes I was found in the labyrinth and put them into a plastic bag I found in the kitchen. Then I also took an old map of York I found in one of Jack's drawers. I wrote Jack a small note, telling him I would pay back the money I took from him and that I am not a thief although I felt like one at the moment.

Then I opened the front door and went out on the street. No one saw me leaving the house - good. I didn't want anyone to catch me doing it.

Yesterday I managed to find a bed in a Bed and Breakfast. It's some kind of a cheap hotel. Not really cozy but much cheaper than the large hotel next to it.

I told the woman who worked there, that I probably would stay for a couple of days. She wasn't really interested in that but wanted me to pay £20 for the previous night.

Today I went shopping downtown York. Although it was very nice of Jack to give me some clothes, they didn't really fit well... I looked like a homeless person. I went and bought myself a new pair of pants, a couple of shirts and a sweater and then enough underwear for a week. Next I went to another store and bought a camera. It was just a cheap digicam, but I only had £300 left when I made my way back to the B&B.

I considered going to the police. Normally one would do it in such a situation, but I stole money from Jack. Now when I come to think of it, it was a really stupid idea. I also thought about the fact that I found it easy to steal from Jack, maybe I had stolen other things in the past too and can't remember it. I'm a bit worried about that.

I feel much better now - yesterday I still felt very tired and exhausted but now I have endless energy. I tried to go to bed, but couldn't sleep at all. When I walked from downtown to the train station I ran a short part of the way. Somehow I get a really good feeling by doing it, I can't explain it. It was like I never had amnesia - on the way from the train station back home, hearing the wind whistling in my ears, I felt like I could fly. I again paid £20 to the woman of the B&B for another night. Now I only have £280 left and I'm starting to panic because of the money - almost half of it spent and I've only been my own in the wide world for one day.

(translation by Aerith)
Today I went downtown to an internet cafe and started typing my diary. It already seems to be very long and I don't have much paper left. It looked like someone forgot a USB Pendrive - it was still plugged into the computer. There was no data on the stick and for a short moment I considered just taking the stick and putting it into my pocket but then I thought about it and gave it to the man behind the bar. The odd thing about my amnesia is that one discovers himself slowly through instinct. The man behind the bar told me that the stick was old and I could have it. I used it to save my diary.

Spent the rest of the day playing around with my camera. It's great fun, until now I took some nice pictures of York. I still want to put some pictures of me on flickr but I have the feeling that nobody will find them - there are so many pictures on the site - why would someone look at mine implicitly?!

Today I just walked around in the city. In a few stores I was listening to some conversations people had. Nothing interesting, mostly they were complaining about the weather. I can understand that - it's damn cold here in winter! But one thing I found interesting - it seems that on the evening of 11th February - the night before I awoke - there was a huge storm north-east of York. That's the region where I woke up... Well, I don't know if it's relevant but maybe I was struck by lightning or something like that. I don't know, I'm just speculating.

Went down to the river today - there's a long path following the river. I went jogging and had this great feeling again. I think I'll go jogging every day now, I feel great doing it.

I have really begun to be frightenend. I hope I can discover my past before I have no more money. It is expensive here in York, I have to eat and drink and also have to pay for the B&B.

I really have to pull myself together. This morning I was close to tears - I was lying on my bed in the B&B and didn't want to go anywhere. Nobody knows me, I feel so lonely.

I also have to wash my clothes - they are starting to stink.

Today wasn't so bad. The sun was finally shining again. It rains almost all the time here. I went for a run by the river this morning - then I felt much better. I washed my clothes too, there are some laundromats here in York. With clean clothes on, I started to feel that maybe it wasn't the end of the world.

I have decided that I'm not going to give up. I must find my true identity!

Today, I went back into the city. But first I went running again. When I’m in a good mood, I have endless energy, but I like this. I called the police from a phone booth today, and asked whether anyone here in the area with shoulder length hair, green eyes, and a muscular body has disappeared recently. I told them my name was Markus. It almost seems to be my real name now, I almost feel as if my name really is Markus.
The police officer told me that they hadn’t heard of any missing persons in the last three months, and the last missing person that he could recall was a blonde girl. When I asked him a couple of other questions, he became suspicious and asked where I was calling from. I hung up the telephone, and ran from the phone booth. I am still afraid because of the £500 I stole from Jack.

Today was a strange day. But a good one. I have met a girl called Emily. We spoke for a really long time, and we even went out for a coffee together. And you know what’s even better about her? She has an idea of what my tattoo could mean. She said that it is written in Esperanto. Something about a lost ring? I have no idea…
Emily has given me her telephone number. I find her really nice.

I went to eat with Emily this evening. She seems to understand my situation – I have however paid for her meal, and now I don’t have much remaining. Damn, I need to find somewhere that I can get money, the B&B is also not cheap when you stay there for several days!

Today Emily called me! The woman who owns the B&B knocked on my door and told me, I had a call.

Emily said, I could stay with her for a while if I want. I think that's the first bit of luck I've had.

I packed my things into a plastic bag and thanked the woman in the B&B. I don't why, but I took the shirt and shorts with me, somehow I don't want to throw them away because they are the only things which remind me of my past. I walked to the train station and haild a taxi and gave the taxi driver the address.

Once I was sitting in the taxi a strange feeling came over me. I didn't know Emily very well. And I was afraid that I would steal again, or that I would become frightened and run away again. Then I noticed that I forgot the money I had left, and the map in the B&B. When I told the taxi driver, he yelled at me. "Get out of here, you bloody boy! I'm not driving you around anymore!"

So I stood there on the side of the street. I was already far outside of the city center and had no idea which way I should go now. There was nobody else on the long street. I took my things in one arm and closed my eyes. Something told me I had to go left. Some kind of an instinct seemed to tell me where I had to go to.

I walked until I reached a crossroad. There I closed my eyes again. It was like I had an instinct in me that knew where I should walk to. I don't know how long I had been walking, maybe five minutes, maybe ten. I can't remember how but suddenly I had the feeling I had arrived. I knew Emily said there was a huge tree in her garden and there in front of me was a huge oak. Behind the tree there was a blue door with the number 56, written in golden letters. I have no idea how I found the right house, but when I rang Emily came to open the door. Maybe something's not ok with me - that can't be normal. Most people would be lost in a big city but I seemed to know the place.

I awoke this morning on Emily’s sofa in the living room. A few minutes later, she came down and made us both coffee. She said she would have to go to work in a couple of minutes. Communication between us is a funny thing - she can speak some german and I some english. . Mostly we just wave our hands around until we understand each other. Emily said her company has a major video contract, and that she had to go to work in order to see the latest cut. She was already late, so she ran out of the house to the bus stop.

I made myself something to eat and then left the house for a while. I wanted to go running again.

First of all I ran around a while in her neighborhood, but then I found a small path that led to the river. I am passionate about riverside running, it is so peaceful and beautiful there, I feel totally comfortable.

I woke up very early today. At the moment, I have endless energy, and I find it really great! I won’t really write much more – the river path is calling!

Today it was cloudy. I borrowed Emily’s “gym card.” It was strange there – it was as if I knew how to use all of the machines instinctively, as though I had used them many times before. One of the people working there asked me if I was a professional athlete. I said no, and asked him why he thought that. He said he thought that I was in surprisingly good condition. More, I hadn’t really considered - the outlet gave me a real rush, and I feel so so so happy!

Emily didn’t have to work today, which was great. She drove me back to the labyrinth where I woke up, and took a few pictures of me there. I want to put them on Flickr and see if anyone recognizes me.

This evening, Emily tried to hypnotize me. She thought maybe we could bring my lost memories back. Unfortunately, it didn’t work.
