Is this "the secret"?
(lovingly coined the 'omphaputer' by Weezel)

  • Revealed by Eli Hunt on March 11th by email
  • Located at: http://164.109.150.213
  • The site is multi-lingual
  • The longer the page is viewed, the more dots appear to fly in and land at various places (populated areas?) on earth's continents, forming a transparent rotating world.
  • The look of the earth after some time seems similar to the satellite image of the earth at night (lights showing populated areas).
  • Occasionally, red or green dots can be seen on the map.

The Manual

No information available at this time.

Omphalos commands

  • red and green dots are occasionally seen flying in to land at points on the globe.
  • The locations have some significance.
    Red dots are inactive omphaloi
Green dots are apparently locations of omphaloi that have been activated.
Green dots turn yellow after an artifact is recovered.
  • Unidentified red/green dot locations (very rough approximations):

The Omphaloi have been determined to give vectos to the locations of special artifacts (see Artifacts for contents of each location)

Omphalos procedure

1. (SITE) a red dot flies into the rotating world map

2. (PLAYERS) somehow we identify the location (city or place) of that dot

3. (PLAYERS) that placename is entered into the command prompt (e.g. DONGYING)
- (SITE) if the location has a red dot, the system returns Pending artifact confirmation
- (SITE) if the location has a green dot, the system returns a confirmation and an omphalos-code direction (e.g. Navigate 3969 Hera 8 degrees.)

4. (PLAYERS) we use the omphalos-code direction to identify another location (city or place)

5. (PLAYERS) that second placename is combined with the first and entered at the command prompt (e.g. STEPHENVILLE/AUSTIN)
- (SITE) the system returns Artifact location identified. and three lines that specify the location of the artifact

6. (PLAYERS) we recover the artifact, we get a code, which, when input to the command line unlocks a PDF of the chapter of Codex of the Lost Ring

7. (SITE) the system makes a second artifact location available, as in step 3
- (PLAYERS) rinse and repeat from step 4

8. (SITE) the dot changes to yellow, presumably when both artifacts are recovered

Omphalos 1 - Stephenville, Newfoundland

  • rangerd discovered the first location, for the green dot: Stephenville, Newfoundland.
  • Command: STEPHENVILLE

  • Command: STEPHENVILLE vector updated to read:
Navigate 20478 Taurus 0.
This leads to #1B
Artifact 1A

Artifact document commands

  • Entering a valid code gives the response
Key confirmed. Transfer initiated.
  • The first part of the retrival command is esperanto "PRUVODEREHAVIGO" - proof of (having/reception/etc)
  • As per the code found on the Cardiff artifact, entering
PRUVODEREHAVIGO AI7P/I5DB/J2L4/N2IR/I80T - gives the link to Artifact document 1A
