Wow.. you've got alot of work ahead of you if you are going to try and translate everything! Especially with the speed at which new items are being added. I love the idea of the guide (since it fairly static), I'm just wondering if you're going to get overwhelmed with everything else, rather than just static game elements (codex/videos/email/blogs). Something to think about. I would also suggest that if it's a direct translation page (such as you did with the guide), that maybe there is a footer element on both that says, read this page in X, in case they come to the English version or vice versa through an external link and not the main page. It also kinda reminds us that if the text is changed/added on one, that we're going to need a change to the other(s).

I concur... unless you want to manage all the separate multi-lingual pages, I'd suggest keeping single pages for the data, and offering or bringing attention to translation means on those pages. While this wiki is by default an english resource, we don't want to alienate anyone, but at the same time we want to make it one resource ;). Even offering every page with multiple language translations of its contents on the same page is quite a lot - at the very least (as now), translations of the in-game assets are far more important. If you have an idea for a better page-translator than the Babelfish widget in the sidebar, please suggest! I'm definitely open for it... perhaps there's even a firefox plugin that will automatically translate text when you visit pages so you don't even have to do anything. not sure. My idea was to translate ONLY the Beginner's Guide into portuguese, because the babelfish automatic translation is very bad. Spanish people can read portuguese very well too. That´s a way to tease people to come to the game. Once they came, the spirit of the game is to search for informations in the languages needed (english or esperanto). A group of esperantists are working now to provide subtitles of the teaser movie in some languages.

Absolutely. I think the Beginner's Guide is definitely one of the resources that warrants multi translations, as it's really an intro into the whole game. Separate pages is nice too. In fact, my post on UF might be better to direct them to the Beginner's Page in the appropriate language rather than to the main page of the wiki itself, especially if the BG mentions the cross language themes of the ARG.
